iMRS on a BBC documentary special; class on using PEMF in counseling

pemfmatimageThe BBC recently featured the iMRS pulsed electromagnetic therapy device on a short documentary special about retirement. In it you’ll see Wolfgang “Wolfie” Jaksch, the founder and CEO, and a neat PEMF lounge in the UK. Some regular people talk about how it’s helped them, as does a race car engineer (who also has the team drivers use it) and a former professional “footballer.” You’ll also see just a few British commercials, including one for affordable dentistry in Hungary (I’m interested in medical tourism for ankle surgery, preferably in Thailand!)

Class August 10 on using the iMRS in a counseling environment

Come to the next iMRS class Saturday, August 10, at Healthy Spaces in West Linn to hear how two counselors have been using the iMRS and the iSLRS system in the counseling environment. They help people with PTSD, depression, past abuse and trauma, and so forth gently but effectively work through “stuck” psychological situations. Guests are free. For more information or to RSVP, just contact me.

Practitioners can earn CEUs for PEMF education

Thanks to a united and enthusiastic group of local iMRS users, Portland will be home to a PEMF conference October 26.  The Portland naturopathic community is proactively educating colleagues about the benefits of PEMF therapy.  The Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine recently approved a curriculum by Dr. Travis Elliott, ND, for 3 hours of continuing education (CE) credit. This class will be sponsored by NCNM.

Following his class on PEMF therapy, Wolfgang Jaksch, CEO of  the largest manufacturer of PEMF technology for home use, will present a public lecture at the college on the ways that these products can be seamlessly integrated into daily life.

PEMF as a practitioner’s tool

iMRS_completePortland PEMF iMRS users met Saturday at Healthy Spaces to learn and share our experiences with pulsed electromagnetic therapy. It was nice to get indoors and out of a hot day. The meeting theme focused largely on how practitioners use the iMRS in their practice. The next meeting will be August 10 and we’ll hear how two counselors incorporate the iMRS and sound-light system in their practice.

iMRS conference with CEUs coming in Fall to Portland

Thanks to Healthy Spaces organizing iMRS users into a community, we have caught the attention of Mediconsult and they will host a conference here in the fall (date to be announced). The conference will include continuing education credits for practitioners, which gives us the opportunity to introduce this great technology to practitioners and their patients. More details to come.

PEMF iMRS, visceral manipulation, and cranial sacral therapy.

We heard from Dr. David Young, a Beaverton chiropractor who has been practicing for more than 30 years. Dr. Young practices visceral manipulation and cranial sacral therapy and does his work while his patients are doing an iMRS session. Young explained that although he admires chiropractic, it is distressed organs that throw the spine out of whack, and working directly on the organs can help with skeletal issues and pain. I hope to try this therapy some day!

PEMF iMRS and Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is an interesting bodywork technique that combines energy medicine with work on nerve centers on the body. Although I don’t understand it and am probably describing it incorrectly, I can attest to how powerful it is. Claire, a massage therapist, said she does Bowen work while her clients are on the iMRS mat. I know Bowen therapy is not supposed to be mixed with other modalities, but she said she has noticed significant improvement in outcome since incorporating the mat.

Next meeting–PEMF iMRS and acupuncture

We also heard from acupuncturists who have begun using the mat in their practice. Patients start with a session on the mat while doing the intake, or do a stand-alone session. I’m excited because these gals are going to teach at the September meeting. The iMRS wand can be used to stimulate acupuncture points and I am eager to learn some good acupuncture points to work with every day. Kidney deficiency anyone?

Come to a meeting and enter for a free rental and sessions!

Three lucky guests also won free prizes. One won a free two-week rental, while two more won a package of iMRS sessions. The winner of the free rental said she was going to be doing sessions during a dinner party that night, including for a young Olympic athlete, and for her large network of friends and clients. She arrived curious, fascinated, and well read on the topic, so I’m excited to hear how her experience goes.

Win a free rental or free sessions for the iMRS PEMF!

PEMF Portland eventCome to this Saturday’s class (June 29, 2:30 pm, Healthy Spaces in West Linn) about the iMRS pulsed electromagnetic therapy device and you could win either a FREE two-week rental! Two people will also win a package of free iMRS sessions at Healthy Spaces Spa in West Linn! Every guest who attends will have their name entered into a drawing. We have cozy groups so your chance of winning is pretty high.

That’s not the only reason to come. Dr. David Young, a chiropractor for more than 30 years, has been using PEMF technology in his practice for about the last ten. He will talk about how using the iMRS on his patients readies the body for the craniosacral work and visceral manipulation that he practices. He will also discuss how magnetic resonance affects the body.

What is PEMF?

PEMF improves how cells function. The “brain” of each cell is the cell membrane, which provides a protective barrier and structure for each cell. The cell membrane communicates with other cells and determines what goes in and out through electrical charges. Chronic pain, fatigue, depression, disease and so on develop partly because this function becomes impaired and the cells do not function well. The PEMF helps restore the membrane’s electrical balance, in essence “charging the battery” of the cell. As a result, the cells generate more energy and the membranes work more efficiently at regulating cell metabolism. This results in increased oxygenation, enhanced circulation, increased hydration, better detoxification, and enhanced nutrient absorption.  This explains the various forms of symptom relief.
